Learn how to make your own socks on double pointed needles!

Class Description: Students will learn how to make their own socks on double pointed needles. They will learn knitting in the round, heel flap, slipped stitches, picking-up stitches, turning the heel, and kitchener stitch while making their own sock.

Instructor Biography: Kelly Hanson is an experienced knitter. She runs the craft community “Saxonburg Fiber Arts” and recently started dyeing yarn using natural methods. Her company, Backyard Fiber Co., can be found on Etsy. She is a mother of four, a homeschooler, and an avid gardener in Butler County, PA.

Prerequisites: Students should know the basics of knitting: cast on, knit, purl, basic decreases (k2tog, ssk), and cast off.

Length of Class: 2 hours

Class Fee: $20

What do I need to bring? Students should bring a ball of sock yarn and double pointed needles.

Maximum Class Size: 15 students

Target Ages: Ages 10 and up
