

Introduction to Wheel Spinning

Class Description: Students will learn how to hand spin their own yarn from fiber using a spinning wheel. Students will learn about different fibers and how adding twist creates yarn that can be used for knitting, crocheting, or weaving.
Instructor Biography: Victoria Boehmer of Dragonwood Ranch and The Knitting Dragon is a passionate fiber artist, teacher, and designer who resides in Erie County, PA. On her homestead is a flock of Shetland Sheep which contribute when she teaches fiber preparation and spinning. She has continued to expand her knitting skills by working toward her Master Hand Knitter Certification. Along with her fiber pursuits she also homeschools and does local agricultural community outreach.

Class Fee: $30
Material Fee: $5.00 an ounce for roving (optional)
What do I need to bring? Bring a wheel and/or Fiber (wool fiber will be easiest to learn with)
